Summary: It's raining and Ryo gets stuck. He brings home a cat and.... A CAT?!
A/n: I started this the other day during a thunderstorm. Enough said? I think so.
Ryo was on his way home from work. It wasn’t late yet or anything, but the over cast sky was trying to tell him other wise. Shige had told him that morning that it was going to storm that night probably around the time he was going to head home. Ryo being a stubborn as he always is, didn’t believe him so left his umbrella at home. Now as he practically ran down the street home to try and not be caught in the rain that would probably start any minute he felt completely stupid.
With one loud crack of thunder and a flash of lightning that Ryo didn’t see it started to pour, and it was pretty could even in the summer heat. Acting fast he soon found shelter under a small shop opening and looked at his phone to see what time it was. Shige always told him that thunderstorms don’t usually last long, but they can get pretty bad, and he wasn’t fond of the idea about staying out there since Shige also always told him that even if you get stuck out there you shouldn’t wait it out.
Just as he was about to take his chances and bolt home in the rain he heard a faint ‘meow’ over the rain. Squinting out into the rain he didn’t see much, but he figured he would. Another soft meow came again and Ryo looked all around and the finally, like they always say it in the last place you look (which Ryo never understood and would respond with “Well it sure as hell isn’t in the first, because then I would keep looking”) he looked down to see a cat taking shelter along with him.
He crouched down and pets the damp cat a few times before it automatically warmed up to him. It was a stray, he knew right away, for it was the same cat Ryo saw to and from work at least once a week.
“This rain is something else huh?” He said scratching the cat behind the ears only to gain a soft purr from the wet feline.
Another loud crack of thunder and the cat all but jumps into Ryo’s arms. He looks out into the rain and frowns, “It’s not going to let up anytime soon.” And without a second thought he takes the cat in his arms and runs home.

“I’m home!” Ryo calls out as he takes off his shoes and padded thorough the genkan dripping water all the way.
Shige looks up from his book and smile’s at Ryo not noticing that cat in his arms. “Welcome home.”
Just before the elder of the two could finishing walking towards the couch to kiss the other Shige squints, “What’s that in your arms, Ryo?”
“Hmm?” Ryo looks down and smiles. “Oh, a cat. He got caught in the rain and was seeking shelter with me. I see him a lot on the way to work.”
Shige closes his book and nearly drops it on the floor and crawls to the other end of the couch close to Ryo. He smiled and looks at the cat in his arms, “Can I see him?”
Ryo starts to hand the cat off to Shige before he lets out a rather loud sneeze that practically has the cat jumping out of Ryo’s arms a hiding in the bathroom. “Shige?”
He sneezed again though, and again, and again, be fore he could even fathom an answer. “Ahh….” He sniffed and sat back on the couch, “I almost forgot…I’m allergic.”
“Right.” Ryo breathed and looked down at the wet fur ball. “I shouldn’t have brought him home. I’ll leave him out in the hall.” He turned and started to head off when Shige called out to him.
“Don’t do that.” His voice sounded a bit muffled due to his stuffed up nose. “He would just scratch at the door or try to get out. Plus it’s pouring out there.” He sneezed.” What kind of people would we…” And again. “We be if we just left him in the rain?”
Ryo shrugged.
“God Ryo…” And once more. “Just put his down somewhere. No wait!” Shige got up from the couch and ran to their extra room which had some random boxes and other crap in it. “Here.” He handed the box along with a soft blanket to Ryo. “Put him in….” He let out threw painfully loud sneezes and back away from Ryo to about half way across the room. “There and we’ll think of something tomorrow.”
“Are you going to be okay?” He said and reluctantly put the cat in the box and put the box in a far corner of the room. He pet the cat a few times and told him that he was not under any curcomstances to leave that box.
“Sure…” He sneezed. “Just peachy.”

The next mourning Ryo got up rather early only to find a very still Shige curled up in bed next to him. Before he could hear the younger’s soft stuffed up snoring he almost swore he was dead. He looked miserable. Ryo knew all to well that the cat could not stay, no matter how much he wanted it to. Shige was far more important.
He took the miserable’s phone from off the nightstand and went out into the living room and called the first person he could think of, Koyama.
The two talked for a bit as Ryo explained the situation and the latter was more than happy to take the cat, he always wanted one. Already had a name in mind and everything.
When Shige woke up the first thing he did was sneeze and blow his nose until he knew nothing was going to come out for a time spam of five minutes. Then he slowly made his way out into the living room only to hear Koyama’s laughter and the muffled sounds of a cat’s meow. He came to see the two plus cat standing by the door laughing.
“Good Morning Shige!” Koyama said brightly. “Isn’t Nyantan just adorable?”
“Who…?” Shige mumbled groggy and suffering.
“Nyantan,” He repeated. “The cat.”
Shige nodded. “Oh right. Adorable, very.” He looked at Ryo who smiled.
“I solved the problem, Koyama will take the cat, so now he’s not outside, and you don’t have to suffer.”
Koyama held out a box to Shige. “Here. These might be useful since there is now cat fur here.” Shige looked at the box in question and noted it was allergy pills. He nodded a small thank you to Koyama and shuffled off to take one as Koyama headed out.
Later on that day after Shige was all better and they two had done a fierce cleaning of the living room and the laundry, he texted Koyama.

I find it interesting that I fished that at almost 5 in the freaking morning and it still comes out good.
