Sometimes, he would lay stretched out on his back. Limbs in every direction, constantly moving until they found the most comfortable position and then he would lie there, still as the dead minus his light breathing, eyes closed and just taking in the warm sun. This was only in the summer and late spring did he lazy about just basking in the sun.
Occasionally his companion would come and pounce on him making him jolt up in annoyance, causing him to glare most of the time before relaxing again with his eyes closed. Some days he wouldn’t even bother and just lay there until his companion would move and lay next to him doing the same silent basking in the sun as the day just went on.
They’ve been together forever, just coming and going as they please not letting the other know where they were going, but it was an unspoken agreement they would always meet back up by the end of the day in the same spot. They met on simple terms but stayed close even if the other seemed a bit flakey.
There was Jun, who was high and snarky at times, but pure and loving at most. Then there was Sho who was fail and constantly getting himself stuck in ridiculous situations, but also logical and cute, in a strange way.
Summer afternoons and early evenings would be spent sleeping about in the grass, they would find each other and do a small attack before just laying their either curled up in a tangled mess of limbs or just next to each other in the sun. Mornings they would spend off on their own eating probably, same with mid evenings. Then when the night was at its darkest they would go out and about sometimes just for the heck of it. Others they would just find a wonderful spot in the shared and sleep more, being lazy and what not.
--
Jun went missing one day though, and Sho was worried, but he didn’t really go off looking since Jun did have the habit of vanishing for a day or two without telling Sho even though he knew it irked the other a lot. Sho tired to get back at him once, only to fail and come back before they night was over to have Jun snicker in his face then offer a reassuring hug as if to say “You can’t be away from me long than a day.”
But when two days somehow morphed into a week without Jun as much as telling him, even for five minutes where he was, Sho was frantically searching for him in every place he could. He even went around twice only to find nothing of Jun.
After his searching, he felt lost and alone. He would often console himself by sleeping in the shared only to wake up with thoughts of Jun then feeling worse than when he went to sleep.
--
Jun would see Sho running about, looking; searching; just moving. He assumed he was looking for him and it made his entire being warm. But he couldn’t go to Sho. Not now, not anymore. It wasn’t by choice really. Maybe that’s what hurt him the most.
He didn’t eat for a while, feeling depressed, and would hid himself in dark areas where no one could see him pitiful state, and he didn’t have to see them. He spent most of his time sleeping when others were around, and then gazing out at the sky when he was alone.
Every time he saw Sho running about just hurt his heart to no end until finally Sho stopped running about, he would pass from time to time. But even that became less until finally, he never saw Sho.
It was for the best, he told himself. Seeing Sho would just hurt him more anyway. And so, he started to eat again, but kept to himself constant thoughts of Sho’s fails in his head playing over and over again like constant reminds that someone was looking for him, even if they didn’t pass anymore.
--
It wasn’t until early autumn did Sho see Jun again, and even he didn’t believe it. The other looked so…so… Different. There was a cold air about him that Sho could feel from their distance that made him shiver. He looked so alone, so helpless. But at the same time like he didn’t want others to be around him, to help him.
Sho saw Jun again; it was late at night when he was snooping around not really looking for anything but then again looking for something he didn’t know of till he found it. Jun was staring up at the sky like he had always done when he was waiting for Sho at night just before he would pounce on him and then the two would end up in a game to see who could dominate before giving up and ending in a tangled mess of limbs.
He stared at Jun for a while, in his dark hidden spot before Jun’s eyes looked over in his direction.
His breathing stopped, was he seen? Did Jun know he was there? Did he make a sound to alarm Jun of his presence?
He wasn’t sure because Jun then turned away and walked off to where Sho could no longer see him.
All it took was that one look, that one simple look, and Sho saw into Jun’s soul. His very being. And what he saw made his very heart break.
--
Jun saw him; he knew Sho was there the entire time. He just wanted to see if the other would come out of hiding, and when he didn’t he figured that maybe looking over in that direction would get him to moved out to where Jun could see him. But he didn’t. So Jun walked away.
It happened again, twice actually before Jun decided that Sho was to chicken to actually do anything and moved in on his own. But Sho ran. Jun was taken aback for a second before he ran after him not caring if anyone noticed if he was gone.
They two ran for ever, it could have been hours and they wouldn’t care. Jun sure as well didn’t, because for the first time in months, he as actually happy.
Sho tripped. Jun kept moving. Sho hit the ground on his back. Jun jumped. Sho closed his eyes waiting to feel the pain of another body on his. Jun landed on Sho.
Sho opened his eyes and looked up at Jun who held him with his perking stare that could speak everything and nothing all at the same time. Right now it was filled with so many emotions that Sho was scared, just a little, but still scared.
He was half expecting Jun to lash out at him for sneaking around and not just coming out and talking to him. But he didn’t. Jun rested his head on Sho’s chest and they stayed that way, for hours they didn’t move. When the sky started to change from a deep blue to a lighter one with the one coming morning did they move.

Limbs in every direction, constantly moving until they found the most comfortable position and then they would lie there, still as the dead minus their light breathing, eyes closed and just taking in the warm sun. Sometimes they would be a tangled mess of limbs not really knowing where one started and the other ended.
They were strays; wild cats that came as they pleased, didn’t bother with anyone but themselves. But now, the only difference was they didn’t leave each others side for longer than ten minutes, worried that the other would vanish again and they would be faced with the world alone.
They were in love.
A love that didn’t need anything but Sho, and Jun, and the warm sun from over head.
